Annie Lennox
Annie Lennox, born 25th December 1954, in Aberdeen Scotland. Dorothy Farquharson & Thomas Allison Lennox is the name of her parents. Lennox took classes in piano, flute and harpsichord in the Royal Academy of Music London for three years in the 70s. She managed to make it with the stipend she received from her students and work part-time jobs. When she was at the Royal Academy Lennox was dissatisfied by her performance when compared with her peers and contemplated a possible alternative route she could take. Lennox was a flute player in the band Dragons Playground in 1976. However she left before the band went on I.T.V.s talent competition New Faces. The main part of her role was the lead singer in The Tourists from 1977 until the year 1980. The band she was in, was introduced to Dave Stewart. Together they will create The Eurythmics the pop group. Lennox worked on her solo debut record Diva. It was released in 1993. The album was an enormous success both commercially and critically. Nostalgia Lennoxs sixth solo album came out in the month of October, 2014. The C.D. Lennox selected her favorites blues soul tracks from her childhood. Lepidoptera, a collection four impromptu piano pieces was released by Lennox in May of 2019. The E.P. She released her first solo album, which was released in conjunction with her art work in the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art, titled "Now I'll Let You Go." Annie Lennox (born December 25 1955) is a Scottish musician and political activist. At the end of the 70s, Lennox gained some not-so-great fame while members in The Tourists. She and Dave Stewart then gained international recognition in the 80s as Eurythmics. In 1992 Lennox launched a solo career with her debut album Diva that produced a number of hit songs, such as Why and Walking through Broken Glass. Medusa the album from 1995 studio has covers of the songs No MoreI Love Yous or The Whiter Shade of Pale. Six studio albums of her own, plus one compilation album, are to her credit. |
